閑話英文原版閱讀（一）：閱讀就是埋頭苦讀嗎？

昨天晚上，看了電影《奇迹男孩》，這是由同名小說Wonder改編而來。據說票房不錯，深受歡迎。可我看了之後不以為然，尤其是後半部分，改編得非常牽強，矛盾沒有充分展開，一些關鍵線索被粗糙地處理，導致高潮部分顯得不明不白，有點硬拉上去的感覺。

今天不說電影，說書。這本書，我看過N遍，而且講過三輪，對其中的人物、情節，我都可以說了熟於心。這裡，我也不對電影改編做更詳細地闡述，而是想就這本書的閱讀，談談自己的感受。

現在，有不少教育機構在推「原版閱讀」這個教學方式，我是贊同的，而且我和我的老師也在做這個事情。其中的好處，我之前已經有過多篇文章論述，此處不贅。問題是，如果沒有引導，光靠學生自己埋頭苦讀，效果就能彰顯出來？

我以Wonder這本書為例，舉一個例子。書中第二章是主人公的姐姐Via的敘述，一開篇，作者就摘取了David Bowie的歌Space Oddity的幾句歌詞：本頭條號與微信公眾號同號，更多內容敬請關注。

一般而言，一個篇章的開頭引述一些話、詩歌等等，對這章的內容是有昭示意義的。那麼，這裡的space oddity起什麼作用呢？

我估計別說學生，就是講過這本書的老師，也未見得思考過這個問題。首先，這是一首歌，作者David Bowie是英國的搖滾巨星，號稱「變色龍」：他的音樂風格多變，他個人的造型也是這樣。這首space oddity(太空怪人)是其代表作；其次，這首歌的歌詞有很多隱喻在其中。我這裡將其摘錄於後：

通過對第一章的閱讀，我們實際上已經知道，有臉部殘疾的Auggie一直在家人的呵護之下，沒有上過學。而到了一定年紀，家人意識到，他們不可能一輩子將Auggie保護在溫室裡面，只有讓他上學，讓他去接觸世界，才能學會被接納，雖然，這個過程將非常痛苦和充滿挑戰。果然，第一天上學的Auggie就遭遇了巨大的挫折。本頭條號與微信公眾號同號，更多內容敬請關注。

Space Oddity這首歌從字面上看，描述的是一個叫Tom的宇航員，在等待發射升空以及升空之後俯瞰地球到最後與地球失聯，然後孤獨地漂浮在太空的故事。很顯然，如果老師能把這首歌曲給學生做詳細地講解，將有助於讓學生建立起Auggie與Tom之間心靈的某種聯繫，從而更好地理解Auggie的心理狀態。

一個閱讀老師必須是一個雜家，我正是這麼要求我自己以及我合作的老師的，否則，我們只是見山是山，見水是水，對學生的引導，也僅僅停留在表面。同樣的，如果一個在閱讀領域並不老練的學生，自己悶著頭一本一本地「讀」，看似堆砌了不少的閱讀字數，而自己的見識、理解能力、分析能力卻沒有得到實質提高，這樣的閱讀，是無效的，至少是蜻蜓點水的。
