BEIJING: China has lifted 68.53 million people out of poverty over the past five years after Chinese President took power, according to a report.

根據報告，過去5年中國已經讓6853萬人擺脫了貧困。

The country's poverty rate dropped from 10.2 per cent in 2012 to 3.1 per cent in 2017 which is an impressive progress in poverty reduction, it said.

該國貧困率從2012年的10.2%下降到2017年的3.1%，在消除貧困方面取得了驚人進展。

China aims to eliminate absolute poverty by 2020 as part of the creation of a moderately prosperous society.

中國目標是2020年消除絕對貧困，這是全面建設小康社會的一部分。

China says it lifted over 600 million people above poverty in the last three decades.
